The Jacob & Co. was founded by Jacob Arabo to satisfy his passion for jewelry. Soon, he started designing for several jewelry brands and private customers. Celebrities like Whitney Houston and Blige were immediately impressed by his talent and personality and recommended him to a host of their high profile male and female friends. He became the new buzz in entertainment, music, fashion, and sport circles in the mid-1990s, with very famous clients. In the year 2002, he ventured into the timepiece world and introduced his Five Time series of watches.

Jacob & Co.’s first watches became a milestone in the development of his signature style by combining different colors with numerous time zone technologies, which gave the watches value of jewelry. These first designs were intended to meet the international lifestyle of celebrities. His style has evolved to better sophistication with softer pastels and he has used different materials. When you look at his designer watches, you cannot miss his sense of jewelry design. The most striking characteristic of most of his watches is the manner in which he has exquisitely and differently used diamonds. These diamonds are not the usual ones; they are as intricate in cut and pattern as they are in color. Black diamonds abound in his creative collections like the “World Your’s series”. Jacob has presented the series in different fashion. The unique approaches of diamonds on the dial in different colors represent oceans and continents respectively. This style in fact changes every year with Jacob using other materials and colors on the map.

Jacob & Co.’s watches cater to both sexes, and, apart from the USA, they are doing excellent business the world over. Their other designs like the two and three time zone styles and the new Automatic Chronograph are also quite popular. Jacob has now turned to serious watch making as he vies for prestigious awards like the Travel and Leisure’s 2006 Design Award. He has also begun introducing the world with limited edition watches. This started in 2005 when he launched timepieces without diamonds; GMT World and H-24 watches come under this category. A single movement of these watches could exhibit the time of 5 to 32 additional cities. They usually come in platinum and stainless but can also be found in various colors like rose, yellow, and white. They are limited to about 1800 pieces.

Another edition called “the Rainbow Tourbillon” was also launched in 2005. This watch registered another first as it integrated a tour billon device to work in tandem with numerous time zone functions. Its dials are of varying colors; but the model to watch out is the one in which a full spectrum of color can be seen through its case back and through the dial. It is available in both diamond and non-diamond 18K white, rose gold bodies and in yellow too. Two rare models, with eighteen and twelve pieces respectively, the Diamond embedded Tourbillon and the Royal are some of the most expensive timepieces in the world.
